Pray for the Victims of Indonesian Tsunami triggered
by volcanic eruption
Hong Kong Christian Council
A tsunami struck the Sunda Strait, western Indonesia, caused by a volcanic eruption at about 9:30 pm on 22 December 2018 (Sat) without warning. More than 200 people were killed and nearly 1,000 people were injured. Many people are still missing. Hundreds of homes and public buildings have been destroyed. And the number of casualties is rising rapidly.
The Hong Kong Christian Council asks that the Hong Kong churches earnestly pray for the victims affected by the tsunami during the Christmas time. May the Lord comfort and aid especially those grieving the loss of loved ones and those in need of help and healing. O God, be with the victims suffering in this time of disaster. Strengthen and lift the rescue workers up to continue the search and rescue efforts. We pray to the Lord that the local churches will offer their assistance to those affected by this tragedy with love, faith and generosity to witness to God through our caring actions.
